Coachability
Developing Coachability is different from developing coaching skills. It includes the interest and ability to be coached. Kevin found through his work with leaders – developing them, coaching them, and working alongside them, that there was a difference in those that were successful earlier in their careers and went on to be more successful. He found that Coachability was influential in both the success of their performance management and their personal / professional development. Coachability: Seven Moments to Increase Performance and Advance Potential - Many organizations strive to create ‘coaching cultures’. However, while much is invested in developing the coach, little attention is paid to a critical element: Employee ‘coach-ability’.
This is the second in a series of exclusive presentations to i4cp Exchanges featuring Kevin Wilde. Kevin originally presented his research and work on Leader De-railers as a keynote speaker at the i4cp 2017 Conference and then joined members of our Executive & Leadership Development Exchange (ELDE) for additional insights during its April virtual meeting.
