Amid the rise of agile organizations and the gig economy, the increasing collaborative intensity of work, and the recent job reallocation shock from the global pandemic, role transitions are more frequent than ever before. These transitions make talent more vulnerable to attrition, disengagement, and low productivity.

The Connected Commons consortium, co-managed by i4cp, has done extension research on how to challenge conventional wisdom and accelerate transitions--from employee onboarding to promotions and lateral movement--to enable greater workforce agility. The research shows that onboarding and leadership development programs often falter by following traditional "best practices" rather than emphasizing the power of quickly developing networks and relationships that can help meet today's collaborative demands.

In this exclusive Connected Commons Workshop, we covered the proven relational practices adopted by individuals who have excelled at work and been promoted more rapidly than their similarly tenured peers. This interactive working session overviewed how to:

  • Gain insight into the challenges organizations face today to retain talent
  • Examine the four critical inflection that employees face when making transitions
  • Learn how to coach employees with proven practices and tangible tools that help them reach their full potential more quickly
  • Build a compelling business case to invest in a connected workforce

This session was led by Greg Pryor, industry thought leader, SVP People and Performance Evangelist at Workday, and design architect of the Connected Talent research and tools, alongside Rob Cross, co-founder of Connected Commons.
