Agility through Resiliency

A big thank you to all our board members and guests who made our in-person meeting in Scottsdale so rich and insightful. Key themes from the day included:

  • The need for transformational/agile leadership.
  • The need to “reset” culture and leadership post-pandemic and post-return to work.
  • How to develop leaders who are accountable and drive consequences for violation of cultural norms and expectations.

Professor Chris Worley joined us and we discussed the characteristics of agile organizations and Chris’s definition of agility – “The ability to make timely and effective change when and where it results in a performance advantage.” (presentation materials attached)

We also had conversations with board co-lead Skip Spriggs on DEI; Jenny Yang, Recently retired Deputy Assistant to the President on Racial Justice & Equity; Dianne  Gherson, Member of the Board of Directors at Kraft Heinz, Centivo, and Tech Wolf, and former CHRO at IBM gave her insights on working with the board; and a discussion of how to handle contentious issues in the workplace led by Jay Jamrog, i4cp & John Boudreau, Marshall School of Business, USC.
