Australian Chief People Officer Board - Leadership and Team Effectiveness

At the May 27rd CHRO Board meeting, our agenda will be as follows:

Recap and Connecting – we will quickly recap the discussion from our last meeting, including Karen Kochler’s presentation on the Future of Work thinking from Microsoft, the resources available in the i4cp Portal, and other benefits of i4cp enterprise membership. Additionally, we will get ideas for expanding the Australian-focused research, including conduits, and hear about the latest news from our US-Board.

The Team Network Effect – i4cp SVP of Research Rob Cross will review i4cp’s latest research on what makes for high-performing teams, including:

  • The implications on leadership (e.g., skills) and what matters most to establishing trust within a team.
  • The relational aspects between successful and unsuccessful teams.

We will follow this session with group discussion and insights. This is a timely issue and one of i4cp’s top priorities for the year.  Implementation tools related to the study can be found at: https://www.i4cp.com/c/team-tools.

The People-Productivity Chain – i4cp VP of Business Development John Sutton will provide an overview of one of the most important i4cp frameworks emerging from the research to ensure HR and business alignment.  i4cp has adapted its 5 Domains of High-Performance Organizations framework (Strategy, Market, Culture, Leadership, and Talent) so that it’s now situational. This framework makes it easy for any HR or business leader to ask critical questions to help ensure the people side of the business is able to best support the strategic intent of the business (e.g., an acquisition, adopting of AI, hybrid work decisions, etc.).

Wrap-Up Items:

  • Determining availability for our July/August in-person meeting in Sydney.
  • “One Thing” Exercise – i4cp Chief Research Officer Kevin Martin and Sr. Research Analyst Mollie Lombardi will join us as we share the one thing we each hope to get out of the Board. They will help identify and deliver some of the research that correlates to our most immediate and pressing needs.
This meeting is exclusively for members of the Australian Chief People Officer Board. If you'd like to participate, please contact us to see if you qualify. If you are an i4cp member, please log in to access the registration/meeting details.
