People Analytics Board March 2018 In-Person Meeting

Our second in-person meeting preceded the i4cp Annual Conference. Members of all i4cp boards met for a
welcome session hosted by Kevin Oakes, i4cp’s CEO. Board members then dispersed to their specific board
meeting.
We kicked off the People Analytics Board (PAB) meeting with introductions, welcoming our most recent
addition the board, Brian Taylor, AVP, Workforce Strategy & Insights, at Cox Automotive. We also welcomed
guests Lillian Bleiman, Global Talent Management Leader, Amazon, and Arun Chidambaram, Global Head,
Talent Analytics, Pfizer. Morning introductions included a review of burning issues from our first meeting.

Morning Agenda
The morning agenda began with Brian Taylor offering us a Look Inside Cox Automotive. Brian gave
us insight into his analytics practice and how Cox Automotive leverages it to drive business decisions.
Brian will share keys sides from his presentation. Brian’s presentation was followed by the HRBP
Working Session led by Michael Semo.   Cox Automotive Presentation

The purpose of the HRBP Working Session was to begin outlining the content for the HRBP Tool Kit.
Patti provided feedback from the i4cp Workforce Analytics Exchange webinar. Michael presented his model
as the basis for the toolkit. Board members and guests offered suggestions for framing it.
Charlotte Nagy offered to work with Michael in creating HRBP personas from which we can better understand
how they use people analytics. Michael identified nine volunteers from the i4cp HRBP Pre-
Conference Workshop. The next step is to begin creating the personas.

Afternoon Agenda
During the afternoon, Rob Cross, Edward A. Madden Professor of Global Business, Babson College;
Jason Pagan, Senior Director, Strategic Workforce Planning and Analytics, Ascension; and Kevin
Osborn, Managing Director, Membership at i4cp joined the meeting. Arun Chidambaram, Global Head,
Talent Analytics at Pfizer, led a conversation about The Different Facets of Talent Analytics. This conversation
was followed by Rob Cross’s discussion on Collaboration and Analytics. Rob also shared
with us information regarding his Connected Commons.
The afternoon ended with a conversation about the PAB Charter. Members and guests provided input into
what the board should accomplish and how it should operate. The next step is for Patti to draft the charter
based on input and provide to the team for final review.

The meeting closed with a review the 2018 projects and identified members to help lead the projects. All members
will have the opportunity to participate and provide input into these projects.
􀀀 HRBP Toolkit
o Michael Semo will continue as lead along with Brian, Sunny, Buddy, and Charlotte.
􀀀 Buyers Guide/Vendor Assessment
o Josh Pascoe will assist Patti and an i4cp researcher in framing research.
􀀀 PAB Recommended Metrics
o Charlotte Nagy and Scott Nemeth will take a lead on this; Patti will provide i4cp and other
lists of metrics to begin the process.
􀀀 i4cp Board Cross-Pollination
o Scott Nemeth volunteered to help develop ways in which we can collaborate with other
boards. One approach discussed is for each board member to attend one other board
meeting during the March 2019 in-person. We would then reconvene to discuss
as a group. Patti will work with i4cp to organize.
In addition to those items listed, ongoing research will occur to ensure members are gaining insights about issues
that matter to them.
