Developing Women in Leadership
We had a very engaging and informative call yesterday regarding Developing Women in Leadership. It is clear that this is an important topic to many of our members as many stories and suggestions were shared during the call. Several members of our ELDE group and some guests from the Chief Learning & Talent Officer and the Chief Diversity Officer Boards joined the call.
Ford Motor Company was the sponsoring member that helped frame the discussions by reinforcing the importance of using a business lens to develop a strategy for this topic. During the call we discussed:
· Developing the Business Case
· Identifying the Performance Gap
· Clearly Defining the Root Cause / Business Need
· Outlining Clear Action Plans
· Ensuring Accurate & Relevant Measurement to link back to the business case
Lorrie Lykins, i4cp Managing Editor also shared research on the current state of women in leadership to help guide the discussions with recent research data. This included information from the US Congress to women in leadership in boards and C-suites. Several suggestions and examples of solutions were shared on the call that were helpful to members dealing with very real challenges within their own organizations.
I’m sure you’ll want to listen to the recording – whether you were on the call or not – to note the many ideas that were shared by the members. Below are the links to the recording, presentations, and additional research assets and articles that were mentioned on the call.
