Plugging the Leaking Talent Bucket: Tackling Leadership De-Railers For Real

Our Top-Talent development efforts aren’t producing the quality and quantity of ‘ ready now’ leaders to meet today’s needs, or tomorrow’s growth plans. One reason is the ‘ leaky bucket’ of talent and succession development efforts: “Continuing to add more resources without measurable results!” New hires and promotions are highly disappointing with recent research that reveals failure rates are as high 47%, with the estimated cost of one failed executive at over $1 million. What are High-Performing Organizations doing differently to identify, develop and engage HiPo’s and Leaders?!

Kevin Wilde – Former CLO General Mills, 2007 CLO of The Year current Executive Leadership Fellow, Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota, Strategic Business Advisor for i4cp shared the presentation he made at the 2017 i4cp Annual Conference. Kevin’s session received very positive feedback on a topic that resonated with many participants and continues to challenge many of our members.

This session incorporated his latest research on leader-derailment and how to plug the talent leaks. This is the first session in a two-part series presented by Kevin Wilde. The second session is scheduled for May 16 to review How to Build Organizational and Individual Coachability.

Good things happen when you expand your “coach-ability”; Derailment happens when you don’t!
