Supplier Diversity & Organizational Agility
Our January CDO Board meeting covered two very timely topics.
First, we looked at the state of supplier diversity practices with a distinguished panel of experts from a variety of industries. Our panelist included:
- Brenda Marshall, Kelly Services
- Raul Suarez-Rodriguez, CVS Health
- Joel Prah, Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin, and
- Sheila Clark Federal Reserve System
During that segment of our meeting we explored opportunities for improving your current supplier diversity practice.
In the second half of our meeting, we were joined by Jay Jamrog, Futurist an Co-Founder i4cp and Kevin Martin, Chief Research Office i4cp to go over the findings of our recent organizational agility study. In preparation of this segment, I asked that you review the following document (Agile Leaders and Organizations) and give some thought to the following five questions:
- How does your diversity and inclusion effort increase an organization's "sensing" competency?
- How does a broadened way of thinking resulting your D&I efforts results in more "fluidity of talent?"
- How do your efforts to improve diversity and inclusion in your organization impact the company's effectiveness in rapidly restructuring itself?
- How does your D&I effort result in a broadening of thinking that enhances the organization's ability to handle risk?
- How can personal networks like ERGs be leveraged to uncover value trapped in talent across the organization?
All my best,
Joe
