Upcoming Webinar: The Power of a Leader as Coach
By Nicole Jue from i4cp | June 18, 2012
In order to accelerate growth in the wake of the global recession, W.W.
Grainger's senior executives realized that the company needed
to evolve its culture from conservative to agile, from U.S.-centric to
global, and from departmental silos to cross-functional collaboration.
This evolution required a workforce that was ready to embrace
innovation and greater risk taking.
To help meet this challenge, the company identified five performance
drivers that defined the behaviors needed for success. This involved
improving customer service, building the team, focusing on driving for
best results and fully preparing leaders to lead. Grainger's
“Leader as Coach” program was created in order to
accomplish these goals.
i4cp is hosting a complimentary webinar on Thursday, June 28, 1pm ET
(10am PT) that will bring W.W. Grainger's story to life.
Presented by John Lawson, W.W. Grainger's Director of
Learning and Development, the webinar will detail the
company's “Leader as Coach” program and
how it contributed to the company's process of creating a
more agile culture.
What you will learn:
- The strategy and business case used to jumpstart the “Leader as Coach” program.
- Program design for implementing the “Leader as Coach” program.
- Lessons learned from building the program.
- Metrics used to evaluate the program's success.
Webinar attendees will also receive a complimentary copy of the i4cp
case study that provides more detail on this innovative program.
