Employee Productivity Now a Company Focus
Written by Erik Samdahl from i4cp on July 02, 2008

The results of i4cp's recent employee productivity survey were released today, revealing that companies are giving a greater focus to employee productivity and efficiency. Specifically, 59% percent of the organizations surveyed said that their emphasis on improving employee productivity has increased over the last year. Given that we're in an almost-recession depending on who you ask, it's no wonder that companies are looking to get more out of their existing workforce and how to hole up inefficiencies as it relates to employees.

That being said, even with a stronger focus on employee productivity, there is still a lot that needs to be done. More than 50% of companies surveys disagreed (or were undecided) as to whether they were currently getting the most out of their employees, and a similar number thought they were NOT doing things better than their competitors. Again, in tight times, getting just a few percent out of your employees can mean a noticeable competitive advantage.
